Welcome back to another Mums on Mondays, featuring Gottabee Country from Highfields, (in the Abbie Lane Arts and Crafts Village). (Oh, and happy birthday to the Queen…it’s a public holiday here today!)
Gottabee Country is owned and run by Janet and Sally, a mother and daughter team, along with their husbands Steve and Trevor, who do the furniture restoration work. They have been open in Highfields since 2003, but moved into the Abbie Lane Village in this beautifully-restored old church to better display their beautiful collection of furniture, homewares, birdhouses, arts and crafts. Many of the items are one-off, and you’re sure to see different things every time you visit. They are open 7 days a week, and can be contacted on 0746968633 or email gottabeecountry@yahoo.com and you can visit their website here.
If you’re into birdhouses, then Gottabee Country is the place for you. Timber, metal, inside or outside- they will have what you’re looking for!
So many beautiful sentiments…I love this one!
These beautiful quilts are just the thing to keep you warm this winter.
Owls are so popular right now- Gottabee Country have them on purses, bags, bookends and statues.
These exquisite dresses are made from doilies by a local, and no two are the same!
Once you’ve found the perfect gift for that special someone, they also have the paper and even sticky-tape to wrap it!
Gottabee Country has an amazing collection of antique keys- just the thing to top off your country house.
If you’re looking for just the right thing for your kitchen, you’re sure to find it here. Tea towels, hot mitts, funky flasks, cutlery, and scrap buckets. (I can highly recommend the scrap buckets- it’s the best one I’ve ever owned!)
Milk and cream cans may sometimes be hard to come by, but you’ll find them here!
So many beautiful items for that special spot in your home.
If you’re looking for a wall display, they have a number of unique designs to choose from.
These cute timber and steel dogs are made locally. Gottabee Country supports many local craftspeople.
And finally, the furniture. Many pieces are restored- and you won’t find two pieces the same. They also take orders for new items such as hat racks and towel rails, made to order. They are able to deliver locally for free too! Gottabee Country accepts lay-by, and if you can’t decide what to get, they also have gift vouchers available.
You will also find items from Gottabee Country at the Ipswich Antique Centre (open Thursday to Monday) if you’re down that way.
Say hi to Sally and Janet next time you’re in Gottabee Country.
Competition Winner
The winner of The Dolly’s Bedroom competition- a doll’s care package- is Jendi Wingrave. Congratulations! I’ll be in touch with you soon!
